Historic place to Visit and Eat. The food has a Comfort Vibe very hearty and filling! Service was excellent. We Ordered The Full Hot Ham 9.50 and Full Goulash 8 the portions looked Amazing coming out and it was delicious!! We will Definitely be back for more. If your hungry come eat here leave full and pleased.
They were busy but it was worth waiting for. The waitress was definitely a gem and she was like a machine!! Great food and service!!
The best ham and cheese sandwich I have had for 30 years. It's a great value for the and I will be making this a regular stop. My wife had the goulash and she loved it.
We wanted to see what this place had to offer after seeing it in a magazine. ZERO disappointment. Our server, Brooke, was awesome with recommendations, never let our glasses get empty. We left stuffed and pleased. If you're looking for elegance, this is not it. If you're looking for good food and plenty of it, I highly recommend.
Oldest place in Michigan. Guy Fieri out here from drive in diners and dives. Hot Ham Sandwhich is enormous. Personally I would like the ham grilled longer be none the less. Meat is fresh, juicy and full of flavor. Goulash is good also. Place is always busy. Love love love
Oldest business in Michigan? of course! I had to go check it out. It is truly a quaint old tavern. We were there for lunch, was not busy. Super relaxing with a fabulous and delightful server. Also had to try the famous hot ham sandwich. It was good. Maybe not the best ham sandwich I’ve ever had but very good. On a return visit , would definitely try something else. Menu had lots of good looking options. Again, service beyond excellent. If I lived closer, could see it being a regular hangout.
I dropped by the Old Tavern Inn because I was interested in its claim of being Michigan’s oldest business. That is a cool feature, and there’s a nice booklet hanging near the bar that details the history, but the food and service were excellent too. The bartender was friendly and it seemed like a welcoming place. The food had big portions for decent prices, and the hot ham sandwich was way bigger than I expected. Both it and the cup of chili tasted great. If you’re in the area I’d definitely recommend giving the Old Tavern Inn a chance.
I lost my coin purse, with coins and cash and no id over a week ago and was calling places I had been. Yep they had it right by their phone, all cash and coins still in it. Amazing. So if you have to lose something, lose it at this great place. Food great too.
